Industry Leader Dominic Headley Announced as Keynote Speaker for 2025
Jersey Professional Carers Day (JPCD) returns on Friday 26th September 2025 with a renewed focus on celebrating, supporting, and strengthening the island’s care workforce. Now in its second year, the event will take the form of a dynamic half-day workshop designed to spotlight innovation, inclusion, and professional standards in care. With a strong speaker line-up, valuable networking opportunities, and practical resources for carers, JPCD 2025 is set to build on last year’s momentum and grow its impact across the sector.
Dominic Headley FRSA, founder of Dominic Headley & Associates (DHA) and recognised as the UK’s foremost expert on safe and fair recruitment, will deliver the extended headline keynote, offering more than an hour of insight on values-based recruitment and safeguarding best practice. Dominic led the development of Skills for Care’s recruitment toolkit and is a trusted adviser to UK Government on criminal-record policy.
Joining him are Carly Rochester of ME Passport, who will preview Jersey’s innovative Carers Skills Passport initiative, and Jo Poynter, Associate Managing Director of Improvement & Innovation (Health & Community) for the Government of Jersey, offering a strategic local perspective on the island’s evolving care landscape. Jo has led innovation across Health & Community Services, including co-developing Jersey’s Dementia Strategy and driving multi-agency improvement on care outcomes.
Beth Gicquel of Cambrette Care, who is organising the event commented:
‘We’re incredibly proud to bring Jersey Professional Carers Day back in 2025 with such an inspiring and relevant line-up of speakers. This event is a celebration of the dedication and professionalism of our care workforce - the individuals who support some of the island’s most vulnerable people every single day. Building on the success of last year, we wanted to create a more focused workshop that would not only celebrate but actively support carers in their roles.
Having Dominic Headley headline the day is a real honour – his leadership on safe, inclusive recruitment speaks directly to the issues that matter most in our sector right now. This event is part of a bigger vision for Jersey, where professional carers are recognised, empowered, and equipped to deliver the best possible care.’
Sponsorship opportunities are still available for organisations that want to show their support for Jersey’s care community and gain visibility at this high-profile event. To get involved, email Beth Gicquel at admin@jerseyprofessionalcarers.com.
